PhD Candidate in Hydro(Geo)logy and Contaminants of Emerging Concern
Location: Barcelona, Spain – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)
🔍 Project Overview:
The overarching goal of the project is to quantify relationships between stream-groundwater mixing (hyporheic exchange) and the attenuation of contaminants of emerging concern in water-stressed Mediterranean rivers under declining flows, using field observations and numerical models.

What we are looking for:
✔️ A Master’s degree in environmental engineering, earth sciences, environmental science, or a related field
✔️ Interest in flume experimental methodologies
✔️ Modeling skills (knowledge of Python, Matlab, Modflow, OpenFOAM is a plus)
✔️ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
