Characterizing hydraulic and biogeochemical processes of organiccontaminants in the subsurface
Autor: Anne Imig (Technical University of Munich)
Abstract: Groundwater contamination with trace organic pollutants from agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, or household products poses a significant risk to the safety of the drinking water supply. Understanding how these contaminants move in the subsurface is crucial to preventing and mitigating contamination of the groundwater resources. In this seminar, I will present several analytical and numerical modeling approaches to describe herbicide and antibiotic transport and fate in the subsurface to derive rates and governing processes.
